The inn is located only 4 minutes from Middlebury and less than a half hour from Vergennes, Vermont. We are a great place to stay when in New England for college tours and vacations to Champlain Valley & Green Mountain National Forest.
Take 93 N to 89 N. Exit 1 on Route 4 west towards Woodstock. Continue to Rutland. From Rutland the simplest way is Route 7 north to Brandon (in inclement weather stay on 7 till Middlebury, then follow 30 south – see Burlington below). For the scenic route, in downtown Brandon, just past the bridge, follow 74 west to Whiting. At Route 30 turn right. Shortly after the Town of Cornwall (church), look for the fire station. A ¼ mile past the fire station, slow down. Cornwall Orchards Bed and Breakfast is on the left just after the historic blacksmith shop and Orchard Run (a private drive). If you miss the first driveway, you can catch the second one!
Follow Route 7 S to Middlebury. At junction with Main Street (Route 30) downtown head south, past Middlebury College. After the sign for Cornwall, look for the bend at Cider Mill Road. We are the next house on the right.
Take I-91 north to Rockingham exit 5. Turn right to Chester/ Ludlow. Continue on 103 to Rutland. Take Route 7 north as above (Boston).
Take 87N to Queensbury. Take exit 20 (don’t listen to Google!) turn left onto route 9 (pass outlet stores, good place to stop) and then right on 149 E towards Fort Ann, New York. Turn left on Route 4 to Rutland. Continue until Route 30 Castleton. Exit and turn left north to Middlebury.
