So many of us are facing tough decisions right now. After considering numerous schemes for reopening our beloved B&B, we have decided to remain closed until May 13, 202–or until there is good news about treatment or a vaccine. Our health is more important than the stress and uncertainty of having out-of-state guests in an old farmhouse (much as we love being innkeepers!). We want to give visitors an excellent experience, and we can’t do that with Covid-19 lurking.
Next year we will have procedures to clean and ensure guest safety based on available lodging guidelines. We are considering a number of changes that may make the B&B more suitable. In the meantime, if you are traveling to Vermont, please visit the State of Vermont’s Covid page here.
The Champlain Valley is hot and very dry this summer. We have had abundant raspberries and opened a farmstand to sell fresh berries, jam, and flowers. Middlebury is undergoing construction of a railroad tunnel this summer so guests have been spared the roar of truck traffic in the morning.
All will return to peace and sanity in 2021. We are sure. Stay safe.
